ApertureDepth | Focus | Blur
Aperture controls the depth of field in a photograph. Aperture is measured in f-stops. The lower the f-stop, the more shallow your depth of field will appear, while the higher the f-stop, the deeper your depth of field will be. To explore the effect that aperture has on a photograph, I took pictures very similar to each other, while only changing the aperture. See how the background becomes more and more in focus when changing the aperture? The tool I used was a DSLR camera, setting it to the "Aperture Priority" setting. The technique I used was to try and keep my camera very still and at the same position so each of my photos would look as similar to each other as possible. |
